ছাপ | chhāp is a speculative counternarrative inspired by the wallpapered interiors of a 1964 Satyajit Ray film Charulata, set in 1879 Calcutta during the British Raj. This multimedia installation consists of a hand-printed wallpaper, made up of motifs from the film superimposed over British artist William Morris's (1834 - 1896) design "Strawberry Thief" on Kitakata paper, a video loop, wall moldings, a haptic speaker, and found furniture.
